Become Billet Family

The organisation of the Gatineau Olympiques is looking for billet families to welcome the young PICS players to their home during the next season, 2020-2021.

Famille#3A billet family need to provide more than just a bed to sleep; they must prepare nutritious meals, listen to the player, enforce rules and provide support when needed. The player must feel at ease, as if he were at home, as a member of the family. It is an investment of time, of course, but it is also a very rewarding experience for all members of this family.

Players must behave in a responsible, respectful and ethical manner. They have a duty to follow the rules and adapt to their new environment. Players must be cooperative and contribute to harmony in their billet familyFamille#5.

Billet families must also be respectful, considerate and cooperative, recognizing common goals and acting in the best interests of the player. Efforts will need to be made to ensure good communication and to mitigate frustrations and challenges.

Billet families have a privileged relationship with the player and a bond of trust is often established. We encourage you to take the time to speak with the player, however you should avoid questioning the player and be more attentive in what he wants to say. If something important concerns him, the organisation will be able to inform you if necessary.

If you think you can meet all the requirements, we invite you to contact Gaston Bérubé, billet Family manager by email, so that he can guide you through the next steps of the process.
