GATINEAU Friday, May 20, 2022
Unfortunately, our season came to an end yesterday. Junior hockey being what it is, we will have experienced an intense journey in the last few weeks, but we will have learned a lot as a group, as an organization.
I would like to start by thanking the players. I have had the privilege this season to be with a great group of people, with great people. I want you to know that despite the adversity we have faced this year, I can assure you that they gave it everything from the first day of camp until the end of the third period last night in Shawinigan. I want to thank them for their confidence, and for their dedication to the logo for the 2021-2022 season.
Then there is the hockey department team. I want to thank them for their passion. Their dedication to our team and their hard work will have contributed greatly to the Olympiques’ best record since the 2015-2016 season. Thank you for being so invested in our project, our organization. You are an integral part of the Gatineau Olympiques.
I would also like to thank the administrative team. What a job they did this year with our arrival in a new center. Thank you for making the Slush Puppie Centre the place to be in the circuit for the fans. I am very proud of your dedication to serving our customers.
The Media. I want to thank them for helping the organization grow this season. Our presence in the community would not be the same without you.
Finally, and most importantly, you the fans! I can’t tell you how proud I have been to lead the Olympiques this season. You have been there every night. Thank you for embracing the new Slush Puppie Centre project. The arena is only a few months old, and already I have nights there that will be remembered forever. The end of the season is not what we hoped for, but know that it is your passion and desire to support your team, that still gives us the drive to get back to work, and to do even better next year. There is no doubt in my mind, the Olympiques fans are by far the best in the QMJHL. You are our pride.
Once again, thank you, and see you soon.
