Start of NHL season for many Olympiques alumni

January 13 was the opening night of the season for the NHL as several teams clashed. Many former Gatineau Olympiques players are on the official rosters of the best league teams in the world.

  • Vitalii Abramov – Ottawa Senators: 3 seasons, 162 games played, 243 points, including 104 goals.
  • Paul Byron – Montreal Canadiens: 3 seasons, 218 games played, 265 points, including 119 goals.
  • Alexandre Carrier – Nashville Predators: 4 seasons, 281 games played, 153 points, including 33 goals.
  • Nicolas Deslauriers – Anaheim Ducks: 1 season, 72 games played, 63 points, including 18 goals.
  • Claude Giroux – Philadelphia Flyers: 3 seasons, 228 games played, 399 points, including 149 goals.
  • Mike Hoffman – St-Louis Blues: 1 season, 19 games played, 12 points, including 5 goals.
  • David Krejci – Boston Bruins: 2 seasons, 117 games played, 144 points, including 49 goals.
  • Zac MacEwen – Vancouver Canucks : 1 season, 66 games played, 74 points, including 31 goals.
  • Nicolas Meloche – San Jose Sharks: 2 seasons, 54 games played, 41 points, including 14 goals.
  • Jean-Gabriel Pageau – New York Islanders: 3 seasons, 180 games played, 179 points, including 85 goals.
  • Yakov Trenin – Nashville Predators: 3 seasons, 192 games played, 218 points, including 80 goals.

In addition to the players, two coaches also started their season: Alain Vigneault with the Philadelphia Flyers and Claude Julien with the Montreal Canadien.

  • Claude Julien: 329 games with the Olympiques, including 183 victories.
  • Alain Vigneault: 390 games with the Olympiques, including 212 victories.

We must not forget the presence of Derick Brassard, co-owner of the Olympiques, player (and assistant captain) for with the Arizona Coyotes.
