GATINEAU – Gatineau Olympiques general manager Louis Robitaille announced Monday that he has acquired forward Donovan Arsenault in return for Julien Paillé, a second round pick in 2022 (BAT) and a third round pick in 2024 (GAT).
Arsenault was in his second season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Abitibi team selected the Prince Edward Island native in the second round (29th overall) of the 2020 QMJHL draft.
The six foot two inch right winger played 67 games in the league, recording 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists).
“We are extremely happy to acquire Donovan. He is a big player. He brings a physical aspect to the ice and is a great person. He is a great fit for our organization. However, to get a player of Arsenault’s caliber, you have to let some quality people go as well. Julien is a player we like a lot. This deal will allow him to play more minutes with his new team and finally let his talent shine. We thank him and wish him the best for the future. – Louis Robitaille, General Manager and Head Coach.
