Desjardins will take on the position of skills development coach. The 51-year-old has specialized for more than 18 years in teaching all skills and individual tactics to hockey players at various levels. The Gatineau native was head coach of the Gatineau Intrépide Midget AAA for two seasons. This is a second time with the Olympiques for Guy Desjardins.

During the 2021-2022 season, he won the college hockey championship with the Cégep de l’Outaouais Griffons. The 31-year-old is perfecting his skills in player development, as he runs his own goaltending school.
“We are thrilled with the addition of Jean-Philippe to our staff. He is a dynamic young coach of the new generation. He is also a winner as evidenced by his RSEQ Cup win. His experience and professionalism fit perfectly with the values of the organization. – Louis Robitaille
