The Olympiques will retire Marc Saumier’s #32 jersey on January 5, 2019

The Olympiques announced on Monday that Marc Saumier’s #32 jersey will be raised to the rafters of the Robert-Guertin on Saturday January 5, 2019, when the Acadie-Bathurst Titan will be in town.

Saumier represented his hometown team during parts of three seasons (1984-85, 1985-86, and 1987-88), tallying 73 goals, and collecting 146 assists for a total of 219 points in 131 games. His most productive season came in 1987-88, when he scored 52 goals and 162 points in 59 contests. It was also during that year that Saumier led the Olympiques to their second President Cup, while also being named playoff MVP after registering 48 points in 19 games.
