In what has become one of the most awaited game year after year, it’s on Friday, December 7 at 7:30 P.M. that the Olympiques will play their annual “Teddy Bear Toss Game”, when they will host the Ottawa 67’s.
Right on time for the Holidays, fans are invited to bring to the game their Teddy bears, dolls, or stuffed animals that their kids are not using anymore. When the Olympiques will score their first goal, spectators will have the opportunity to start an avalanche of Teddy bears on the ice.
They will then be picked up by the Gatineau Chevaliers Pee-Wee A hockey team and by the St-Alexandre’s 25e Groupe Scout, and the Gatineau Police Department will transport everything to the Maison de l’Amitie de Gatineau, a non-profit organization who helps people in need in the area. Please note that it is recommended to place the stuffed animals in plastic bags before throwing them to avoid any damages by the water on the ice.
Friday’s game will also mark the start of “The Battle of the Ottawa River”, where the two teams play for the Alexandra Cup and bragging rights as the top team in the region.
Fans interested in attending the December 7th game can buy tickets online at www.ovation.qc.ca or at the Robert Guertin Centre’s box-office.
